Bangawarra and fjmtstudio Collaborate on Blackwattle Bay Master Plan Development

One of the largest NSW infrastructure projects (INSW) to be developed, the approximately 8.4 hectare Blackwattle Bay site is also one of the first major developments in the precinct under NSW Government Connecting with Country Framework.

Connecting with the country was featured as a priority early in the development of the master plan with fjmtstudio and Bangawarra working towards mutually positive outcomes.

Bondi Surf Club

Unanimous approval for the revitalization of the Bondi Surf Club

The transformation of Bondi Surf Club has been approved by Waverley Council, with the design by Lockhart – Krause Architects celebrating local heritage.

The original 1934 clubhouse will be fully restored when construction begins in 2023. Undulating arched shapes and terracotta will be seen throughout, drawing a clear line to Bondi’s identity.

Arcadia Native Strategy

Arcadia brings its own change with the native strategy

Consistently at the forefront of invoking Indigenous change shaping the industry, Arcadia launched its first Indigenous strategy to coincide with Reconciliation Week.

The strategy, which will guide much of the firm’s operations through 2030, will see Arcadia’s goals and aspirations morph into something more tangible. The strategy has been in the works since 2020, conducting internal research and workshops to identify three main principles: respect, community and advocacy.

Green facade the striking feature of the Brisbane proposal

A pair of buildings on Montague Road in Brisbane have been submitted to the local council by Henroth for approval, with the structures designed by the NRA Collaborative fitted with a landscaped exoskeleton.

AIA Unveils Honors List for 2022 QLD Regional Architecture Awards

The Australian Institute of Architects has unveiled the winners of the Queensland Regional Architecture Awards, recognizing the efforts of architects from seven regions.

New projects in the Brisbane, Central Queensland, Darling Downs and West Moreton, North Queensland, Far North Queensland, Sunshine Coast, Northern Rivers and Gold Coast regions were showcased, with the jury considering a number of educational, commercial, residential projects , heritage, interiors. and urban categories.

Sydney Children's Hospital

BLP completes design phase of new Sydney Children’s Hospital

The design development phase of Sydney Children’s Hospital Stage 1 and Australia’s first Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Center at Randwick is now complete.

Global pediatric design specialist Billard Leece Partnership (BLP) collaborated with Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, Children’s Cancer Institute and NSW Health Infrastructure on the groundbreaking ‘bench-to-bedside’ design of the new facility with input from clinicians, of researchers, children, families and caregivers.

The North Sea

Wollongong development allows everyone to live by the sea

The Northsea development in Wollongong, the first mixed tenure project ever created in the Illawarra, is something of a landmark. A project developed by Traders In Purple and designed by Jackson Teece and Angelo Di Martino, 10 apartments have been purchased by the Land and Housing Corporation, six of which are owned by Housing Trust, with 38 two- and three-bedroom apartments available for purchase by buyers private.

2022 AILA Victoria Landscape Architecture Awards Winners Announced

The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) has announced the winners of the 2022 Victoria Landscape Architecture Awards.

The AILA Landscape Architecture Awards, which celebrate excellence in landscape architecture, saw a total of 60 project submissions in Victoria for this year’s edition, with 34 awards given across multiple categories in recognition exceptional work in the design of outdoor spaces.
