Matt Roloff began building his dream home just a month before his ex Amy Roloff’s wedding on the farm, prompting fans of Little People, Big World to ask why.

Over the weekend, Matt explained that the foundation for his future home had been laid and that he had his four grandchildren stamp their handprints and names in concrete.

The next phase of construction on Matt’s new home comes just a month before his ex-wife Amy Roloff’s wedding at the farm, scheduled for Saturday, August 28, 2021.

Amy worried that Matt’s plans would interfere with her marriage

Amy had expressed concerns that Matt might have a project going on during his marriage that could interfere with his big day.

Amy and her fiancé, Chris, met up with Matt at the farm this season to discuss finalizing their plan to get married there, after considering the idea.

One of Amy’s concerns was Matt’s list of ongoing farm projects. The construction causes problems for the marriage, being an eyesore and hampering the equipment.

One of Matt’s followers even raised the issue in a comment on his Instagram post where he showed off the foundations of the house. They said to Matt, “Dang .. foundation and it’s not even August 28th.”

Matt replied, “Can you believe it? MDR. Wait until you [see] what happens next week[!]”

Now LPBW fans are wondering why Matt started building his dream home so close to Amy’s upcoming wedding.

In a Reddit thread, an LPBW fan shared a screenshot of Matt’s video from his Instagram post. The photo showed Matt’s twin sons Jeremy and Zach helping with the grandchildren’s handprints in the concrete.

LPBW fans commented on the thread, with several commenting on Matt starting construction so close to Amy’s impending wedding date.

“I thought Matt wasn’t going to start construction before Amy’s farm wedding?” Guess I misunderstood the comment, or maybe they picked the farm was just a story for the show that lacks content, ”wrote one Reddit user of Matt’s construction. .

One LPBW fan felt that Matt had started building his dream house a little too early and commented, “I think Matt should have waited until after Amy’s wedding to start building his new house at Roloff Farms. . “

Another Reddit user responded and thought a concrete slab foundation shouldn’t be a big deal, when it comes to Amy and Chris’ marriage.

“I thought so too, but I can see how concrete might not be that bad. It’s just a small slab on the ground, ”they commented.

Will Amy be okay with Matt starting construction so close to his wedding day?

Although an LPBW viewer admitted that he wouldn’t mind the concrete slab, he believed Amy might be.

“I wouldn’t mind… Amy, on the other hand, may think differently,” their comment said.

One commentator imagined Amy complaining about the construction at the house, possibly to her fiance, Chris.

“Oh my God, I can’t imagine the conversation that took place at Amy’s house about this,” the Reddit user wrote.

Matt and Caryn will not attend Amy’s wedding

As for Amy and Chris’ very wedding day, Matt made it clear that he and his girlfriend, Caryn Chandler, weren’t planning on being near the farm.

“We are not going to attend Amy’s wedding. We didn’t need to have this complication. We say, “Thank you very much for volunteering. “Not that they did, but…” Matt said he didn’t attend Amy and Chris’ wedding.

Caryn added, “We wish them all the best, but we don’t need to be there when they exchange their vows.”

As for Amy, she never planned to invite Matt and Caryn to her wedding and admitted that she and Matt aren’t even close to having a relationship where she would like him to be there.

When asked if Matt and Caryn were invited to her wedding, she simply replied, “No, they’re not.”

Amy added, “Well, I mean, it’s like – no. Too much history is, it is… no. Nowhere near this kind of relationship would I want my ex to get married… with his girlfriend. With his longtime girlfriend.

It was reported earlier this year that Matt and Caryn were still awaiting the wedding invitations. A source said: “Caryn is not a fan of Amy and doesn’t want to go, but she would be supporting Matt, and all the kids and grandkids will be there.”

But it’s obvious Matt and Caryn are having a great time in Arizona during the nuptials, and viewers would agree that Amy would like that, too.

Little People, Big World airs Tuesday nights at 9 / 8c on TLC and Discovery +.
